Reporting from Munka Lungby

My first couple of weeks at the school have gone by fast, although they've been on some intense shit. The early mornings are still kind of killing me, but I've managed, and had a lot of fun too.
A lot of the things I've done here I haven't got photos of yet, so I'll be back shortly with some more updates. I borrowed a camera this evening though and here's what's been cracking lately:



This is a pencil study of Nicola's face, done as preparation for an oil portrait I'll be painting of her. The assignment is to somehow work with simplification in the paintings, so that's what I'm going to go for, at least when it comes to the clothing. Might be interesting to use more details on the flesh parts of the picture and make the rest as mere fields of colour.

This is Nicola working on a portrait of me, also on the simplification tip. I really like how this is looking so far, very solid somehow. I'm not good at being a model though, after twenty minutes I'm falling asleep.

A couple of days back we had a drawing class with a nude model. I think I enjoy doing the quick drawings the most, like these four shown here.
